1. About the contest
In line with our desire to spread the joy of reading, the Rainbow Book Club is writing a series on notable Africans for young readers. This is Pastor Adeboye, is our first title.
These books showcase people from the continent who have made a significant contribution to society in different areas of endeavours – leadership, sports, music, innovation, character, writing, film, etc. Many of them are the first at what they do, the best at what they do, or have achieved something that we cannot ignore.
The contestants would need to read the book and tell us Life Lessons they take away from it.
This contest seeks to encourage young people to read these books and from them:

Our portal will accept a maximum of 1000 entries
The child (or their parents or legal guardian, as the law stipulates) reserve the copyright to their material but by entering, gives the Rainbow Book Club (the Rainbow Foundation) full and unrestricted use of the material
At any point in the competition, the Rainbow team may decide to carry out its due diligence to verify that the contestants actually read the book and prepared the entries themselves. This may include a zoom interview with the contestant in the presence of their parent or legal guardian. If we have reason to believe the work was not entirely that of the contestant, they will be disqualified.
At the point of selecting the shortlist of 10, we will request proof of the age of the child.
Please ensure you submit the correct and final version of the entry as once submitted, you would not be able to make any amendment.
Entries, once submitted, cannot be withdrawn.
2.4 Deadline
Deadline for entries is midnight (WAT) on 31st December 2022
2.5 Length
The written entry should be between 350 and 400 words
The video entry should not be longer than 1 minute

3.3 Judging
The judges’ decision is final and no individual correspondence can be entered into. Judges are unable to comment on individual entries. The judges decision is fair and unbiased. Children/wards of the judges, Rainbow Book Club (Rainbow Foundation) staff or board members cannot enter the competition. The Rainbow Book Club (Rainbow Foundation) reserves the right to change the panel of judges without notice.
The Rainbow Book Club (Rainbow Foundation) reserves the right to not award any prize if the quality of the entries do not meet the minimum required standard or if we don’t get the minimum number of entries expected (100).4 Copyright
Worldwide copyright of each entry remains with the author but the Rainbow Book Club (the Rainbow Foundation) has unrestricted rights to publish the entries and use them.
Participation in this contest and acceptance of the prize money constitutes permission for contest organisers to use the contestants names, locations, photographs, videos, biographical information, contest materials and/or any other statements provided by the contestants for promotional and advertising purposes without notice or compensation.
5 Results & Awards
Those on the longlist, shortlist and the winners will be announced in January 2023 on all the Rainbow Book Club social media platforms.

6 Instructions
You are advised to carefully read the rules, entry requirements and eligibility before submitting your entries

Confirm that all fields are filled accurately and that you are submitting the correct version of your story and video then click submit
Application will be open from 1 December to 31st December

judges will evaluate the top entries based on their set criteria
